Neysuh on the Spotlight

I am on the spotlight and as long as I'm in it, I'm gonna share my thoughts, my feelings, my artistry and whatever that comes to mind.

A Couple of Updates

I don’t blog a lot lately. I do get a writer’s block sometimes. Yes, feeling writer lang. Haha. But being on blog hiatus for days can have its advantages. Because now you have lots of stories to tell!

Anyway, what have I been up to lately? Nothing much but I got to experience going to the gym for the first time last Tuesday. It’s one of the perks I have for working in Accenture. I get to use the gym for free and they also have a gym instructor to help you out. I wouldn’t imagine myself doing everything on my own because I have zero knowledge on what to do inside a gym. I don’t even know how to operate a treadmill. Haha.

I went there together with three of my other colleagues. I am proud of myself because I was the one who had the idea of going to the gym last week. Buti nung niyaya ko sila, game sila because I don’t really want to be alone. We started out with 25 minutes of cardio, stretching, ab excercise, and then lifting weights. After that, we used their various gym equipments, I don’t know what they are called.

It felt really good after. I was talking with Arbs kanina after our second gym session and we both feel refreshed after. If some people are nanghihina, kami naman nagiging hyper. Sarap ng pakiramdam.

I hope I can maintain this and can go to the gym 3x a week. I do feel sore the morning after especially my legs. I find it really hard to board the bus when I went home. Will go back again tomorrow! :)

Before I started this active lifestyle thing, I’ve been reading other blogs and articles in the internet about staying fit. Telling everyone is a good thing because you’ll feel accountable for it. You have to keep them updated. And now through this blog, I can.

I kind of also watch what I eat. And when I say “kind of”, it means I’m not really strict about it because I don’t want to starve myself. I still do eat normally and Sundays is my cheat day. Here are some of the changes I made to my diet recently. It’s nothing much but I think it does makes sense:

  1. I don’t drink coke anymore.
  2. I don’t eat chips anymore (Yes!).
  3. I drink hot natural tea (not milk tea!) twice a day.
I don’t know if these can make you lose weight but I think cutting down on sugar and salty foods is good for you. Hot tea is good. We have those Lipton tea bags in the office which tastes like those teas being served in North Park and other chinese restaurants. I make sure I drink it twice a day using 1 tea bag.
How about you? What’s your weekly workout and have you tried cutting down some of your “guilty pleasure” nomnoms? :)
